How to Troubleshoot MacBook Charging issues
Macbook charging is not a common issue but when it happens one needs to diagnose it in detail of many components such as logic board, battery & charger any one of the components may be faulty before you contact any macbook repair center here are the few troubleshooting you can try. If your macbook pro is not charging due to any liquid spill we suggest you get it diagnosed from the apple repair center as diagnosing any device with a liquid spill can damage the device which will make it worst and irreparable. Before you start with any troubleshooting we suggest you get a spare adaptor and try as it may be a possible issue apart from this if your macbook has USB CType cable do try an alternate c type cable.
Clean Port: Do make sure that the ports of the macbook charger & device charger are clean and do not have any carbon on them. In the case of the MagSafe charger make sure there is nothing stuck in dirt or any kind of particles as these magnets tend to capture lots of dirt you can use any old toothbrush and easily clean this dirt make sure do not use any kind of liquid or cleaner to clean as they may sort do remember to unplug the charger before process and cleaning.
SMC Reset: System Management Reset in apple macbook is safe to do and there is no data loss when SMC reset is done. SMC resets are very easy for old Macbooks that are compatible with MagSafe 1 or MagSafe 2 chargers you have to connect the charger and turn off your device when you see orange light on the charger press Shift-Control-Option on the left side of the built-in keyboard, then press the power button at the same time this will make the changes on the charger led which is an indication of successfully SMC reset.
Battery Status: Macbook battery can be one of the reasons for not charging the battery in the mac hence you can easily verify the heath of any apple macbook. Once you turn on the macbook you can click on the apple logo –> about this mac–> then scroll down and click on power where you see the battery status. Do check what is the health status and cycle count. if the cycle count is above 700 you can get it diagnosed from any local macbook repair to understand the mAH of the battery.
